Destin Beach and Shopping

First off... look at that night sky! Destin's beach is beautiful. It was such a breathtaking sight. I don't own a tripod, so I couldn't get a good shot. But then, I made a mound of sand and set the camera on it. Worked fairly well, right? (Mental note: Get a darn tripod!)

Destin is also home to a wonderful outlet mall called Silver Sands. We bought a lot of little goodies. It may sound silly to scrapbook your purchases, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I used a light color scheme consisting of mostly tones (hue + grey = tone). I stacked the photos and numbered them so I could fit as much on the paper as possible with little or no confusion.

I used a grey marker for all the journaling. The journaling is also lined with grey stitching stamps. I wanted to keep with texture being my main focus. All of the paper edges were distressed to add to the overall feel.

Hope you enjoyed this page. Hopefully I'll get the rest of the Destin trip finished. Wish me luck.

Fudpucker's

There's a restaurant in Destin called Fudpucker's. It's a definite tourist destination. They keep baby alligators there and for $10, you can hold a baby alligator and take a picture with it. When you take a picture with an alligator or buy food to feed them, Fudpucker's donates the proceeds to their conservation.

The walls are so bright and colorful. You are encouraged to leave your name somewhere. There's names inside of the light fixtures and on the ceiling!

The bright colors where a little interesting for me to work with. I'm usually a neutral or muted kind of person. But this was actually fun. I started out with a deep blue striped paper. It's a Stella Rose paper from My Mind's Eye, LLC. The I layered on a lace die cut paper from Basic Grey. I arranged all my pictures on the right as a film strip. This layout seems to be very common. I've found quite a few arranged this way. It seemed the perfect fit for my photos. I wanted the outside of Fudpucker's to be the main focus because of all the colors. The other photos took on a thumbnail presence.

The flower is just a paper flower that I used pink and green chalk ink on. Then I embossed both and layered them. The center of the flower is actually from an old earring of mine. I lost the mate to it..... so now it's an embellishment! LOL.

I also added small tags to each photo to label them. Hope you enjoyed this! :)

Head in the Clouds

Well, I'm just now starting to upload my newest pages. Been a little crazy. I've moved, so now I'm closer to my wonderful family. Got an adorable photo for y'all.

Yep, that's Jada. She's upside down with a duck on her face. Need I say more?

When I saw the "Head in the Clouds" paper by My Minds Eye, LLC. I had to get it. It just seems like the perfect match for this photo. Jada is obviously floating around in the clouds. I stuck with the color palette of yellow, red orange, and baby blue. I'm very proud of it!

I've been seeing some cute pinwheels on some pages. I decided that this was the layout to do it on. The brads had to be painted white to match the layout because I only have black ones right now.

Hope you all liked it. Hopefully I will have more up soon!

Tornado Damage

Things have been quite hectic lately. My wonderful boyfriend and I decided to go to Florida at the beginning of this month. Once we got back, our city was hit with massive tornadoes. We had no power for 5 days. So, we all loaded the vehicles up and left for Florida once again. This was the first week that we've gotten back to normal. Please pray for those who have lost family members and loved ones in the storms.
